4th World Congress on Biosphere Reserves

4th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves took place in Lima, Peru, from March 14 to 17 in 2016.This event was a world meeting of the Committees of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Program (MAB) and experts directly involved in the practical implementation of biosphere reserves.
The Congress addressed different issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Post 2015 Development Agenda, such as education for sustainable development, the economic viability of nature conservation systems, human migrations and protection of natural resources, among others.
The  Kazakhstan delegation consisting of 4 people. The head of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the chairman of Kazakhstan's National MAB Committee and vice president of the MAB UNESCO for Asia and Pacific Dr. Roman Jashenko (Professor of al-Farabi Kazakh National University). During the Congress, the members of the Kazakh delegation will give several presentations.
